Well, we are in the process of 2013. I don't make New Year Resolution, I just try to do things better. YEa, I need to lose weight, but who doesn't? I need to take better control of my finaces, that is onething that is an all year long process.
One thing I am striving for this year it so be more organized. I am a person that either I am organized all the way, or none at all. When I say non at all, there is chaos.
I am a mom and wife. I have two kids, one is almost 20 and is living at home. He doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. We try to push him directions that we think he needs to go, but he knows more that we do. Didn't we all when we were 20?
I do a lot of yarn work and my corncer of the living room has been taken over with yarn. One thing I have started is to organize my corner of my room. I don't have a work room yet, waiting for the 20 year old to find out what he wants to do with his life before I do what I want to do with the extra room.
Another thing I am doing to be more organized to prepare frozen meals that I can just pop in the crock pot or the oven. I am a teacher as well, so money is tight. My husband has been on sick leave for almost two months, that was during Thanksgiving and Christmas, so money is very tight. Like everyone else, we have bills, car payment, house payment, taxes, medical bills, insurance. You know, being an adult really sucks at times. Maybe my 20 year old has got a good idea. Stay with mom and dad so I don't have bills.
Well, yesterday we had a snow day from school. However, we do have to make it up. I took that day and made good use of it. At least I will have my Saturday semi-free.
I went shopping with my list and coupons. I use a lot of those little suckers. I spent about $350 on groceries. I only go shopping about once or twice a month. I stock up on meats and staples, but like my eggs and fresh foods, I do that once a week. Of course pet food.
Last summer, I canned and put away a lot of tomoatoes, beans, pickels and such from my garden. That is a blessing this time of year.
Ok, after shopping, I laid out my meats and chicken. Cut up my onions, peppers and made up my broths. I started doing some freezer meals. I think I put away six bags of meals that all I have to do is pull them out and put them in my crock pot. I even made home made sloppy Joes, made twice as much that I was going to freeze, but it didn't make it. I put in a small bowl to have for lunches for today. As a matter of fact, that is what I am going to take for my lunch today.
Tonight, I plan on making up batches of ground beef mixed with ground vineson, my hubby is a hunter, and freeze.
I'll have to post my recepie for the home made sloppy joe tonight. It was incredibly easy and you will not believe what goes in it. Picts to come as well.
Life goes by too fast and we often look for quick and fast ways to do things. Turn around and we see that everything else has changed. I want to talk about my fight with depression, overweight, teaching special needs, ways to do things such as canning, crafting, parenting, grandparenting, trying to do things as natural, but as safe as possible. Coupon hints, money saving strategies, food preparations, Whatever else I can come up with.
