Ending the Old Year and starting the New Year a little differently

Well, as 2014 comes to a close, many of us set and reflect on the past 365 days. That does seem a lot of day, how can it go by so fast? It is true what our parents and grandparents say, the older we get, the faster it goes by.
This past year, my son moved out, and moved back in. I started working on my masters of applied behavior analysis with an emphasis in autism. My daughter is 17. My husband worked three months, was sent home from his job, on his birthday after being injured. He has surgery on his shoulder in May and returned back to work in September, only to resign from his job in October due to injuries that would not allow him to properly do his job. He was an EMT for the local ambulance district. It is a stressful job on mind and body and he is not getting any younger. That's another story for another day.

While on my Christmas break from school, I haven't stopped working. I had some frozen chicken broth in the freezer, got that out and canned about 9 pints along with 5 pints of vegetable broth. It is hard to find vegetable broth in the store near where I live, so I decided to make it up and can it. Sounds productive, doesn't it.

I plan to make up some grape jelly before I return back to school. I have some frozen grape juice from this summer. My mother-in-law gave me a lot of concord grapes someone had raised. My husband and I mushed them into juice and I froze it to save it for doing it this time of year. I've not made grape jelly, I've made other kinds. Well see how it goes.
