As many of the readers of this blog know, Ike came through here like a freight train. It was a little slower when it hit here than when it hit the gulf coast, but for winds around here to be from 40 to 60 plus mph, that is pretty strong. Many trees and buildings got some damage. Power outages where everywhere. I called my father-in-law last night and he still did not have power. I assume that much of the rural areas do not have power.
We have not heard from the strike team who are down in Texas yesterday. Chuck went to go check on John's house and everything was fine there. I did text John that, but he has not replied.
If anyone who is reading this has heard from them, please email me so I can post it on here and on my other blog. There are a few readers on that one as well.
With Ike gone through, with the help of a cool front, the weather is a lot cooler and comfortable. It now feels like fall.
